What this obituary doesn't tell you is that Gordon was one of the first OSS Weathermen trained in WWII to operate in Yugoslavia. He worked first at the OSS HQ in Bari Italy, then later on the island of Vis, in support of Marshal Tito's reassigned HQ.

Thanks to him, we have a ton of pictures taken during the training of the original OSS Weathermen at the British Parachute School in Ramat David, Palestine.

I corresponded and shared phone calls with Gordon quite a bit during the 1997 project to compile all SOWT photos and AAR items from WWII onwards. He was always full of good info and a real joy to speak with.

I also met him in person on two occasions. On the first occasion, he brought out his medals and memorabilia and ended up giving me a set of his original British wings and a drinks chit from the OSS NCO Club in Bari. Frank Hall was with me on the second occasion, when we had breakfast with Gordon while we were in town on business. I have a photo from that last visit - Here's a link to it:

Rest in Peace, Gordon - You will definitely be missed!
